THE THING - Bright Obeng - 40x60" - Oil on Recycled Flour Sack - 2021 Bright Obeng was born in Teshie, a suburb of Accra, in 1974. After apprenticing 3 years under the legendary artist Affrimartey, by the age of 17 he was already painting some of the most interesting movie posters in Ghana. He loves to paint all types of movies, but especially martial arts. He enjoys watching cartoons, reading the bible, and spending time with his family. "What makes me so excited is when I paint a perfect picture that raises an argument against its reality."
